Racers Topped by Wright State

The Murray State women's basketball team fell to Wright State 75-68 in Dayton, Ohio Thursday. The Racers will return back home on Tuesday Nov. 25 to face Lipscomb at 7 p.m.
Wright State (3-0) came out strong from tip-off and went up 13-8, but the Racers (2-2) took control and went on a 11-0 run to take a 18-15 lead. The teams would battle for control of the game, but Murray State continued to stay ahead 28-21. The Raiders took control in the last four minutes of the first half and went into the locker room with a 35-30 lead over MSU. Murray State shot .385 percent from the field along with .1000 from the free throw line during the first half.
Coming out of the locker room, Murray State was not able to stop Wright State as they went on a 7-4 lead and remained in control 42-34. Wright State went up by as many as 10 over the Racers, they still had fight left in them, and tightened the gap to 58-54. Murray State shot .500 from the field and .429 from behind the arc in the second half, but that wasn't enough to take the game as they fell to the Raiders, 75-68.
Keiona Kirby notched her first double-double of the season by putting up 22 points going 5-for-5 from the free throw line and grabbing 10 rebounds. Ke'Shunan James added 11 points, while LeAsia Wright recorded 10. Netanya Jackson pulled down 10 rebounds, while adding six points.
Murray State will face Lipscomb at the CFSB Center Tuesday Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
