Williams Named OVC Player Of The Week

Murray State's Jarvis Williams was named the Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball Player of the Week Monday in voting conducted among the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Williams, a senior from Macon, Ga., helped the Racers to a pair of wins last week at Middle Tennessee (Nov. 18) 68-49 and at home against Brescia (Nov. 20) 89-56.
He started with a 28 point & 12 rebound effort at MTSU when he went 12-of-19 from the field and added a 9-of-11 game for 21 points and five rebounds against Brescia. Williams averaged 24.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds for the two games.
The Racers play Monday in Cincinnati at Xavier in a 6 p.m. central time tip at the Cintas Center. Fox Sports 1 will televise the game.
MSU fans are invited to come down to Nashville this weekend to see the Racers play in the Challenge in Music City at Municipal Auditorium. MSU's three games in three days are against Portland, Valparaiso and Drake. Tip times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets through the MSU ticket office by calling 270-809-3000.
