The Murray State women's basketball team will get back on the road to Kennesaw, Georgia to face Kennesaw State Saturday Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. Murray State has faced five opponents from the state of Georgia in program history, including, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, and Savannah State. MSU is 6-4 overall against teams from the state of Georgia. However, when the Racers play in the state of Georgia they are 1-1. Most of the games against opponents in Georgia have been played at neutral sites.

For the second straight game, the Racers went into overtime, and fell to the Purple Aces. Six different Racers featured in double digits in the contest, while the team sank 15 of 16 free throws for a season-high 93.8 percent. However, that was not enough to overcome 27 turnovers in the game that led to 37 points by the Purple Aces. Keiona Kirby led Murray State with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Ke'Shunan James followed with 16 points and five boards. Kyra Gulledge pulled down the first double-double of her career with 10 points and a career-best 12 rebounds in the game, to go along with MSU individual season best of six blocks. Olivia Cunningham added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Julia Fox and LeAsia Wright chipped in with 12 and 10, respectively.

Kennesaw State is 5-2, with their two losses coming against Georgia Tech and Seton Hall. They have defeated Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Columbia, and Georgia State. On Wednesday, the Owls beat Georgia State for the first time in program history. KSU is averaging 66.6 points per game along with a .415 field goal percentage. Jasmine McAllister averages a double-double with 17.3 points per game, and 11.3 rebounds per game. Two other Owls average double-digit points per game coming from Deandrea Sawyers and Kristina Wells who average 15.1 and 11.6 points respectively.
