The Murray State women's basketball team will close out a three-game homes stand Wednesday when they take on Southeast Missouri at 7 p.m., at The Bank. The game is make-up contest due to the unexpected power outage on the MSU campus on Jan. 6.

Murray State took a hard loss Monday, falling to SIU Edwardsville, 73-61. Murray State's offense never really got off the ground in the contest, never leading and trailed by no less than 12 in the second half. Despite SIUE's field goal percentage dropping from 55.3 to 26.9 percent from the first to second half, MSU was not able to take advantage and fell by 12.
Janssen Starks led Murray Sate on the night with 13, while Jessica Winfrey and Taylor Porter followed with 12 and 11, respectively. Netanya Jackson turned in the first double-digit rebound performance of her career to lead Murray State with 14 boards to go along with nine points.

The Racers and Southeast Missouri have met on 56 previous occasions, with the Redhawks getting the better of MSU in 32 of those meetings. SEMO swept the season series with Murray State last season, besting MSU by 12 in Cape Girardeau and by three in Murray on Senior Day. Prior to last year, the Racers had won three straight games in the series and five of the previous six. However, in Murray, MSU holds the slightest of advantages, leading the Redhawks, 13-12.

Southeast Missouri dropped a tough 102-70 decision at home against UT Martin Saturday moving the Redhawk's to 8-17 overall and 4-8 in the OVC heading into Wednesday night. Brianna Mitchell came off the bench to lead SEMO with 20 points, including 12 from the free throw line, while Jordan Hunter followed with 16.
Patricia Mack and Olivia Hackmann currently lead the Redhawks in scoring at 9.6 points per game, while Mack also leads in rebounds at 9.4. Southeast Missouri currently averages 64.0 points per game with a season-high of 79 two weeks ago against SIUE and a season-low of 37 in November against Arkansas. In contrast, they allow 71.3 points per game, marking the largest current negative scoring margin in the league. Percentage wise the Redhawks are shooting 38.7 percent from the floor, 30.4 percent from beyond-the-arc and 67.4 percent at the charity stripe.
