Kedrick Flomo Signs With The Racers

Murray State head men's basketball coach Steve Prohm announced the signing of Kedrick Flomo of North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Flomo, a 6-1 guard, will join the Racers' program in the fall as a freshman.
"We're extremely excited to have Kedrick join our program," Prohm said. "He has all the qualities we look for on and off the court. He had an outstanding senior year and comes from a winning program. I really like his ability to make shots. The point guard position was an emphasis for us because we needed depth there. I'm looking forward to seeing Kedrick grow in our program the next four years."
Flomo is on The Associated Press All-State Team in North Carolina and NCPreps.com named him its 3A Player of the Year. The Winston-Salem Journal named Flomo their Frank Spencer Award winner which is given annually to the player that received the most votes for the All-Northwest Team.
The record book has been rewritten during Flomo's career at North Forsyth. He leaves as the school's all-time scorer with 2,275 points and assister with 407. He is also the school's all-time leader in made 3-point baskets with 274.
North Forsyth Head Coach Sean Vestal saw his star help the Vikings win a school-record 86 games in four seasons, including 22 last season.
"Kedrick played the two spot for us his first two seasons and stepped up to be point guard in his junior and senior seasons," Vestal said. "He's an unselfish player and this season what we really needed from him was to score and he did that. He's going to do what it takes to win. Anytime the gym has been open the last four years, Kedrick has been there. He has a desire to get better and he's an outstanding young man."
According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Flomo had a stretch of 18 games this past season when he scored at least 21 points, including 10 30-point games. Additionally, Flomo averaged 30 points, 8.8 rebounds and six assists per game in leading North Forsyth to the North Carolina 3-A Western Regional final which was the semifinal round of the state tournament.
Flomo had a memorable game when he scored North Forsyth's first 43 points and ended with 48 of his team's 54 points in a win against Asheboro. The game was the single-game scoring record for North Forsyth.
Flomo joins a talented incoming class for the Racers that includes recent signee Wayne Langston, a 6-7 forward from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Justin Seymour and JayQuan McCloud are also with the Racers in the fall. Seymour has been with the program sitting out last season after his transfer from Utah. Seymour, a 6-3 guard from Wheeler High School in Atlanta, will be a sophomore. JayQuan McCloud is a 6-2 guard from North Chicago, Ill., where he played at North Chicago Community High School.
