Racer 5K Set For Family Weekend - Sept. 27

The Murray State Athletics – Track & Field/Cross Country program announced plans for the inaugural Racer 5K Run will be held Saturday, Sept. 27. The event will be part of a busy Family Weekend at Murray State.
The race starts at 8 a.m. from the front of the Susan E. Bauernfeind Student Recreation & Wellness Center on the Murray State campus. The race will finish on the Marshall Gage Track inside Roy Stewart Stadium.
Online registration ended at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. Walk up participants are welcome on race day beginning at 7 a.m. Those signing up online will receive an event t-shirt. All participants will pay for their entry on race day.
The Racer 5K is a fundraiser for the MSU Track & Field program. Runners can enter the race for $25 ($20 for MSU students) or bring five canned goods and receive a $5 discount. The Murray-Calloway County Needline will benefit from the canned goods that are collected.
Prizes will be awarded following the race for the age groups of: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-plus.
Calloway County Chiropractic, Thoroughbred Spirits and Wild Mountain Bakery & Café are sponsors of the Racer 5K.
