The Murray State women's basketball team will begin conference play at Morehead State Saturday at 4:15 p.m. The Racers are 9-7 when facing an OVC opponent as their first matchup in January.

MSU set individual and program records when they scored a program high 118 points in a 118-50 victory Tuesday at the CFSB Center. The win marked the first time in program history the Racers have had three 100-plus point victories, and the first time since the 1988-89 season that they have scored 100-plus points in three games.

 The Racers, individually and as a team, made their way into the record books in the victory. Olivia Cunningham's 11 assists is tied for seventh for assists in a game. Netanya Jackson's five blocks put her tied for fifth in blocks in a game. As a team, Murray State is now tied for first in the record book as it pulled down 66 rebounds. The 28 assists and 10 blocks are tied for second their respective categories, while the 45 field goals made is now the third most in team history. Seven Racers scored in double-digits on the night, led by Cunnigham with 17 points and Jackson and Keiona Kirby with 15. Cunnigham and Jackson each notched a double-double in the contest with 11 assists and 15 rebounds, respectively. Murray State shot 54.9-percent, which is its best field goals percentage this season. From behind-the-arc, the Racers were 44.4-percent, which stands as their second best percentage this season.

Morehead State finished up non-conference play with a 4-9 record. The Eagles fell 75-66 to Southern Illinois Tuesday night. Morehead State led 38-34 at the half, but was unable to continue with their momentum in the loss. Shay Steele notched a double-double when she pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds along with 12 points. Almesha Jones scored a team-high 17 points and dished out nine assists. The Eagles shot 36.5-percent from the field on the game, and was outrebounded by nine. The team had three more steals then the Salukis, and forced their opponent to turn the ball over seven more times in the loss.
