This Weekend
The Racers look to remain unbeaten OVC play and continue their 15-match winning streak as they travel to face SIU Edwardsville Friday evening and Eastern Illinois Saturday. MSU swept the Cougars and Panthers two weeks ago in Murray.
Last Weekend
MSU set a program record with its 15th consecutive victory on Saturday when the Racers swept Tennessee State. The win is also MSU's 16th-straight at Racer Arena, which is also a new program record. Kristen Besselsen had 19 kills in the two matches and hit .366. Sam Bedard averaged 11 assists and 4.33 digs per set in the two wins.
Milestones
Middle blocker Alyssa Lelm is just three block assists away from moving into fourth-place on the all-time list in Murray State history. Last weekend against Belmont, Lelm moved into fourth on the all-time total blocks list for her career. Bedard is 34 digs shy of becoming the 17th member of the 1,000-digs club at MSU and is 152 assists from fourth on the all-time assists list as a Racer.
Last Time vs. The Competition
Two weeks ago in the win over SIUE, the Racers held the Cougars to just a .068 hitting percentage as a team and hit .276 themselves. Besselsen led MSU with 14 kills and a .409 attack percentage. Against EIU, Besselsen tallied a team-high 16 kills and hit .433 while Scottie Ingram recorded 15 kills and a .419 hitting percentage. Bedard had 44 assists in the win over the Panthers.
Scouting SIU Edwardsville
The Cougars are led by talented middle blocker Kristen Torre who leads the OVC in hitting percentage at .389 and also ranks seventh in the league with 3.18 kills per set. Torre leads the team with 232 kills on the season. Ashley Witt is second on the squad with 192 kills. Torre and Witt were held to just five kills in the match earlier this season against the Racers, with Torre hitting .176. Mallory Mangun tallied 15 assists in that loss and leads the team with 625 assists this season. Torre also leads the conference with 1.04 blocks per set and had five against MSU two weeks ago.

The Panthers are led by the duo of Allie Hueston and Chelsea Lee who lead the team with 203 and 202 kills, respectively this season. Hueston's .360 hitting percentage is second-best in the league. Marah Bradbury leads the team with 634 assists (7.46 per set) while Stephanie Wallace's 4.43 digs per set rank third in the conference. Lee led EIU with seven kills in loss at MSU two weeks ago while Bradbury had 16 assists and Wallace tallied 17 digs in the match.
