This Weekend
The Murray State volleyball team closes its four-match road swing this weekend as the Racers travel to face Jacksonville State Friday at 7 p.m. and Tennessee Tech Saturday at 4 p.m. MSU is looking for its first win at JSU since 2008 and is 13-13 all-time at TTU.
Last Weekend
The Racers split a pair of road matches last weekend, defeating SIU Edwardsville in four sets before having its 16-match winning streak snapped in five sets at Eastern Illinois the next night. Taylor Olden led the Racers with 36 kills over the weekend while Sam Bedard averaged 12 assists per set. Ellie Lorenz averaged 5.44 digs per set in the two matches and recorded a career-high 32 digs at EIU.
Re-Writing the Record Book
Bedard became the 17th member of the 1,000-dig club in program history against EIU last weekend and is also now just 44 assists shy of moving into fourth-place on the all-time career assists list at MSU. Alyssa Lelm moved into fourth-place on the all-time block assists list in Racer history. Lelm now sits at 216 block assists for her career. Scottie Ingram is 45 kills shy of becoming the 11th member of the 1,000-kill club in program history and is 49 digs from 1,000 for her career as well. If Ingram hits both those milestones, she would become just the eighth student-athlete at MSU to record 1,000 kills and digs in her career.
Scouting Jacksonville State
The Gamecocks have a balanced attack, featuring three players with 246 kills or more. Charis Ludtke leads JSU with 259 kills, while Allyson Zuhlke has 250 kills and Emily Rutherford has 246 and leads the team with 3.08 kills per set. Mackenzie Rombach leads the squad with a .239 hitting percentage and has 158 kills on the year. Jennifer Hart leads the Gamecocks with 877 assists (9.53 per set) and Hannah Kirk leads the team with 365 digs (3.92 per set). JSU is led by Head Coach Terry Gamble who is in his second season with the Gamecocks. The Racers have won just once in Jacksonville.

The Golden Eagles are led offensively by Cody Dodd's 349 kills on the season. Dodd's 4.15 kills per set leads the OVC. Dodd also leads the team with a .225 attack percentage. Sharon Anderson leads TTU with 9.25 assists, 731 overall and Kennedy Wade's 3.86 digs per set from her libero position. Defensively, the Golden Eagles rank in the top half of the league with 1.67 blocks per set. Dave Zelenock is in his third season at the helm of the Golden Eagles.
