This Week
The Racers will finally play a match in the friendly confines of Racer Arena as Murray State will host three matches this week, beginning with Austin Peay Wednesday, and concluding with Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Last Week
MSU recorded its third sweep of OVC play with its victory over Eastern Kentucky. Set scores went 25-14, 25-16 and 25-15. The Racers hit a season-high .393 as a team in the match and were led by Scottie Ingram's 11 kills. Taylor Olden added nine kills and hit .500.
No Place Like Home
After going a perfect 11-0 at home in 2014, the Racers look to extend their home winning streak in their first three home matches of the season. MSU's home winning streak of 11 is the second-best mark in program history. The Racers won 14 consecutive home matches spanning across the 2002 and 2003 seasons. The Racers' perfect mark last season at Racer Arena was just the second time in school history (2003) that MSU went undefeated at home.
Approaching Milestones
Libero Ellie Lorenz needs just 25 more digs to reach 1,000 for her career, which would make her the 16th member all-time at MSU. Sam Bedard is 88 digs from 1,000 for her career and needs 321 assists to move into fourth-place on the all-time career assists list. Alyssa Lelm needs just seven blocks to move into fourth on the all-time total blocks list for the Racers and needs 12 block assists to reach fourth on that list all-time as well.
Scouting Austin Peay
The Governors are led by Ashley Slay's 169 kills and 214 points. Slay also leads the team with a .254 hitting percentage. APSU employs a two setter system and is led by Kristen Stucker's 371 assists. Aubrey Marsellis is second on the team with 231. As a team, the Governors are hitting .156 overall and have 99 total blocks on the season. APSU is led by Head Coach Taylor Mott who is in her fourth season with the Govs.
