The Murray State women finish their road trip through the state of Florida Saturday when the Racers face 10th-ranked Florida State in Tallahassee at 1 p.m., Murray time. The Racers are coming off a 79-54 loss to Jacksonville on Thursday, snapping a two-game winning streak for MSU.
Ke'Shunan James led the Racers in the contest against the Dolphins, scoring a game-high 24 points. Kyra Gulledge added 14 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals in the loss. In her last two games, Gulledge is averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and three blocks per game on 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) shooting from the floor.
The Racers are looking for just their second win in program history against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent. MSU is 1-5 all-time against the ACC, with its only win coming against Wake Forest back in 1975.
The Seminoles have four players averaging in double figures this season and are led by Shakayla Thomas' 16.6 per game. Adut Bulgak is second on FSU averaging 15 per game and also leads the team averaging 8.2 rebounds per game. Leticia Romero and Brittany Brown round-out the scorers in double figures averaging 11.9 and 10.5 points per, respectively. Brown and Romero lead the team in assists with 47 and 30, respectively.
The Seminoles are a perfect 6-0 at the Tucker Center this season, their two losses have come at the hand of in-state rival Florida in the season-opener and to top-ranked and three-time defending National Champion Connecticut last week. The Seminoles are led by Head Coach Sue Semrau who is in her 19th season with FSU and was the 2015 National Coach of the Year by three publications.
