Racers Roll Past Lynx in Exhibition

The Murray State women had 11 different players score in the game and shot 48 percent (12-for-25) from 3-point range as the Racers ran past Lindenwood-Belleville 101-57 in an exhibition contest at the CFSB Center.
LeAsia Wright had a monster game as she scored 33 points on 13-of-22 from the floor and went 5-of-10 from 3-point range. Wright also added five rebounds, five assists and three steals in the win. Ke'Shunan James added 16 points while Bria Bethea and Jashae Lee scored 14 and 11, respectively. Kyra Gulledge grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in the game.
MSU held the Lynx to just 37.3 percent shooting and only committed nine personal fouls in the game, as LUB had just five free-throw attempts, making four of them. The Racers went 15-for-18 (83.3 percent) from the line.
The Racers controlled the inside throughout, out-rebounding the Lynx 49-32 and gaining a 46-10 edge in paint points and had a 16-10 advantage in second-chance scoring. The Racers also scored 16 points in transition while Lindenwood didn't score at all on the fast break.
MSU led from start to finish in the victory.
Wednesday's exhibition matchup was the last for the Racers before conference play. MSU hosts Morehead State Jan. 2 to open the New Year and OVC play in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
