The Racers' schedule has changed for the week as they will now travel to play Southern Illinois rather than host the Salukis. MSU's contest March 31 against SIU has now been moved to Reagan Field. The Racers' four-game series against Saint Peter's this weekend at Reagan Field has been cancelled and Murray State will now be playing three games against Dayton down in Emerson, Ga., at the Perfect Game Complex.
Last Week
The Racers dropped two-of-three last weekend against IPFW down in Emerson. Brock Downey pitched MSU to its first win of the season as the Racers defeated the Mastodons 4-1 in game one of the series. Downey went six innings and allowed just one run on three hits while striking-out a season-high eight batters.
Grand Salami
Tyler Lawrence recorded his second home run of the season against IPFW in game two of the series in "grand" fashion as he hit a grand slam in the Racers' seven-run second inning.

Raising the OBP
Taylor Mathews and Derek Yoder have reached base safely in all six games this season for the Racers. Yoder has reached safely in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Doubledown
Three Racers lead the team so far in 2015 in doubles. Matthew Johnson, Dalton West and Yoder have all hit three doubles this season. All three of West's hits have gone for extra-bases this year.

Scouting Southern Illinois
The Salukis are currently on a three-game losing streak and are coming off going 1-3 against Eastern Kentucky last weekend. SIU's lone win of 2015 was a 4-1 win over the Colonels. SIU opened the season losing three games to TCU who is ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll and is second in the NCBWA Top-25 Poll.
The Salukis are led by by Greg Lambert who leads the team with a .269 average (minimum 20 at-bats). Braden Mosley leads the team with three RBIs in just five at-bats on the season. Logan Blackfan and Hunter Anderson are hitting .364 and .353, respectively this season with 11 and 17 at-bats, respectively. Aaron Hauge leads the SIU pitching staff with a 1.38 ERA in 2015 and is 1-1 with 13 innings pitched and 10 strikeouts. Colten Selvey has the Salukis' lone save on the season and has not allowed a hit in two innings of work out of the bullpen.
