The Murray State women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in conference play at Purcell Courts with a 7-0 win over Austin Peay.

Megan Blue and Nancy Karaky got things started off with a doubles win over Isabela Jovanovic and Brittney Covington. Then the Lady Govs came back with a vengeance and grabbed a doubles win. It was up to the Tchakarova sisters to push the Racers to victory and grab the doubles point. The twins defeated Hannah Tatlock and Jovana Karac 8-2 to clinch the doubles point.

Verginie Tchakarova had a quick sweep 6-0, 6-0 on court 5 over Isabela Jovanovic. The rest of the Racers soon followed and the sweet of the Lady Govs was complete.

"Another great win today," said head coach Jorge Caetano, "The girls are just so excited to be able to compete again and overall they did a great job. It was a tough day to play tennis because the wind was blowing very hard but they were mentally tough and stayed calm and found a way to get the win."

"We have a tough one tomorrow against UT Martin but we are looking forward to it."

The Racers return to Purcell Courts to take on UT Martin at 2 p.m.
