Men's Tennis Drops Match To Golden Eagles

Murray State men's tennis team fell 7-0 to Tennessee Tech Friday afternoon at Purcell Courts.

The match started off with tough competition during doubles. Tennessee Tech took a quick 8-0 win on court one, but on courts two and three they fought hard to get the point. Tennessee Tech was able to take control and win 8-3 on court three, but the Racers and Golden Eagles finished on court two even though the doubles point had been clinched.

Will True put up a fight in the first set in the No. 1 position but fell 6-4, 6-0. The situation was similar on court two where Max McLean fell 6-4, 6-2. MSU fought hard on all six courts to gain the advantage, but the Golden Eagles continued to dominate Murray State fell on all courts.

David Hess fell 6-2 in the first set but came back took the second set 6-2. In the third set, it was a back and forth match between the OVC opponents. Eventually, Tennessee Tech's Jorge Alfonzo took the lead and won the tiebreaker 11-9.

The Racers will take on their final opponent of the 2015 season Jacksonville State Saturday after the women's match which is set to begin at 10 a.m. Before the match begins we will recognize the two seniors Max McLean and Aleks Mitric.
