Racers Compete at Margaret Simmons Invitational

Murray State track and field battled through the wind and rain to compete in the Margaret Simmons Invitational in Murray, Kentucky.

Tonia Pratt came out in the hammer, the first event of the day, and threw for a new personal record, which also stands as a school record of 59.82m (196'3").

Brittany Bohn set a personal record herself in the 3000m steeplechase when she finished the event in 11:20.93.

Taylor Horton, Emma Gilmore and Raeven Wilson all ran in the 200m for the first time and finished in 27.67, 27.83 and 30.38, respectively.

Pratt finished first in the shot put with 13.68m, while Darcy Sullivan, who was competing for the first time in the event finished with a distance of 9.35m. Sullivan also competed in the hammer for the first time and threw 27.92m.

Sarah Bindel competed in both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles. She finished second in both events with time of 16.78 (100m hurdles) and 1:13.34 (400m hurdles).
