Williams Set To Compete In Portsmouth Invitational

Murray State men's basketball senior has been selected to play in the 2015 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Williams is part of the 64th PIT that has a long history of giving deserving basketball players a jump start to their professional careers. Only 64 players get invitations to the PIT and it's a high honor to get a chance to play. Williams is the first Racer to play in the PIT since Ed Daniel in 2013.
The PIT runs from April 8-11 and all 30 NBA teams will have scouts there to witness the action.
Williams has been placed on the team sponsored by Portsmouth Sports Club. His first game was scheduled for 6 p.m. Central Time Wednesday.
Williams, out of Macon, Ga., was named All-OVC first-team after helping the Racers to their 24th Ohio Valley Conference championship as they ran the table going 16-0. He became the 42nd member of the MSU-1000 Point club and is one of only 14 Racers to score 1,000 points and grab 600 rebounds. He's also one of five to do it in less than 100 games. In all-time records at MSU, he ranks 34th in points and 21st in rebounds after playing two seasons.
Jarvis was one of only two players in the OVC to rank in the top-10 in scoring and rebounding. He was fifth in the OVC in scoring at 15.7 and third in rebounding at 8.4.
Williams played in the NABC Reese's All-Star Game during Final Four weekend and scored a team-high 16 points for the Orange Team.
The Ohio Valley Conference has two players in the PIT as Eastern Kentucky's Corey Walden is also in the event.
