Fun In Store At Prohm Basketball Camps
6/8/2015 7:51:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Summertime fun and great play is set for those children that attend the 2015 Steve Prohm Basketball Camps.
Head Coach Prohm and the Racer coaching staff are set to deliver a great time of learning the game for boys and girls of all ages.
All camp sessions will take place at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.
The first camp is a mini-camp for ages 5-7 (June 8-11) with a cost of $90 for each camper. The camp starts each day at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. This camp will be a great experience for these young campers with emphasis on fundamentals and team play.
The next session of Prohm Camp (June 22-25) is for boys and girls, age 7-17, and has a cost of $180 per camper. The day begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m. The final Prohm Camp of the summer (July 27-30) is for age 7 to those that will be entering the seventh grade in the fall.
The Prohm summer camps have been an annual summer activity for many of the area's youth. Coach Prohm and staff will be teaching the game of basketball and how to have fun playing it.
"Our camp objective is to instruct young players in the fundamentals of the game, while instilling a love and appreciation for the game of basketball," Prohm said. "We offer an experienced staff of instructors and a full schedule of activities. Each camper can count on an exciting and rewarding week of camp."
All Steve Prohm Camps are held on the campus Murray State University at the CFSB Center.
Adult supervision is provided at all times. Parents are allowed to begin dropping off their children at the CFSB Center at 8 a.m. for all camps as a cushion for work schedules. For the full day camps, supervision will be provided until 5 p.m. The last day of the full day camps ends at noon.
Lunch can be purchased for $3 per camper each day. Campers are allowed to bring their lunch if they wish.
Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt, ball, and certificate of participation.
Of course, there will be plenty of chants of "Ice Cream Shot!" When the shot is made, all of the campers get to have ice cream.
For information, call the Murray State Men's Basketball office at (270) 809-6804.
The Prohm Team Camp (June 5-6) has limited spots available. The cost for high school teams wishing to attend both days of the camp is $400. The cost for one day is $250. Coaches interested in bringing their team are asked to call MSU assistant coach James Kane at (270) 809-6730.
Parents and coaches may email questions or sign up forms for the youth camps and team camp to msu.basketballcamp@murraystate.edu
