The Murray State volleyball team recorded its third consecutive sweep and second of the weekend as the Racers defeated Jacksonville State 25-20, 25-17 and 25-22 Saturday afternoon at Racer Arena. The win pushes MSU's record to 12-8 overall and 7-1 in the OVC. The Racers sit in a tie for first place in the league along with Austin Peay.
Scottie Ingram led the Racers on the day with 16 kills while hitting .303 and tied for the team lead with two service aces in the sweep. Kristen Besselsen added 12 kills and hit a team-best .348 while Kamille Jones and Olivia Chatman chipped in with eight and six kills, respectively.

Stultz also added three kills, five digs and a pair of service aces. In the back row, Ellie Lorenz was great while tallying a match-high 18 digs and Alex Kaufmann added five.
As a team, MSU hit .269 in the win while the Gamecocks (16-11, 5-3 OVC) were held to a .160 hitting percentage. The Racers also held a 4-1 advantage in service aces. JSU, who entered the contest as one of the top blocking teams in the country and number one in the OVC, out-blocked the Racers by just an 8-6 margin. Dacia Brown and Chatman led the way at the net for MSU with three total blocks each.
The Racers return to action next weekend with a big road swing through Nashville. MSU faces Tennessee State Friday at 6 p.m., and closes the weekend Saturday at defending OVC Tournament Champion Belmont in a 2 p.m., match.
