OVC Media Poll Picks Racers West Favorite

In advance of Wednesday's Ohio Valley Conference basketball media day, the league released its third annual media poll where the Murray State men's team was picked as the favorite of the OVC West Division.
The preseason poll and preseason team voted on by OVC head coaches and sports information directors comes out Wednesday when the league gathers in Nashville at the Sheraton Music City Hotel.
Murray State received all 16 first-place votes (84 total points) to be the West Division favorite, while Austin Peay was tabbed second (60 points). Eastern Illinois (56), UT Martin (45), Southeast Missouri (28) and SIUE (21) rounded out the predicted order for the division.
The media poll comes from various outlets in and around OVC teams and they selected Belmont as the overall favorite with nine first place votes. The Racers picked up three first-place votes and Morehead State got two.
The voice of the Racers, Neal Bradley, is one of 17 media members that vote in the OVC poll. Other voters include: Catlin Bogard, OVC Ball; Mike Bradd, Eastern Illinois Radio; David Loos, Austin Peay Radio; Ed Marlowe, Paducah Sun; Mike Organ, The Tennessean; Brian Rives, Austin Peay Radio; Justin Rust, Journal Gazette/Times-Courier; Harry Schroeder, ValleyHoopsInsider.com; Greg Stotelmyer, Eastern Kentucky Radio and Rich Tiner, Belmont Radio.
