Racers Record Road Sweep

Kristen Besselsen led Murray State with a match-high 16 kills and also hit .344 in the match as the Racers were able to sweep Southeast Missouri Friday night in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Set scores went 25-22, 25-21 and 25-23. The win pushes MSU's win streak to seven straight.
Scottie Ingram added 11 kills in the sweep and Dacia Brown chipped in with seven. Kamille Jones and Hannah Stultz had six and five kills, respectively on the night while Stultz also hit .556 and registered 40 assists on the night.
Libero Ellie Lorenz was once again fantastic in the back row defensively for the Racers (15-8, 10-1 OVC) as she tallied a match-best 19 digs in the win. Besselsen and Ingram were also in double-digit digs on the night as they picked up double-doubles with 11 digs each.
As a team, the Racers hit .243 in the win while holding the Redhawks (4-21, 3-8 OVC) to a .151 team hitting percentage. Both teams had seven total blocks apiece with Ingram and Megan Lindsay both leading the way for MSU with four total. SEMO was able to have an edge in the serving department as the Redhawks recorded five aces compared to MSU's two.
The Racers look to continue their winning streak Saturday as MSU finishes the weekend with an 11 a.m. match at UT Martin.
