Stark Honored As OVC Newcomer Of The Week

Murray State's Jonathan Stark was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the week in a vote of the league's sports information directors for men's basketball.
A junior from Munford, Tennessee, Stark started his MSU career with a bang Friday when he hit the game winning 3-point basket with 1.5 seconds left against Illinois State in the season opener. His shot gave the Racers a 73-70 win over the Redbirds.
Stark, a transfer from Tulane, scored 12 of the Racers' 15 points in the final 2:30 as they overcame a seven-point deficit to get the win.
Stark scored 19 points in the game, grabbed six rebounds and had four assists, plus a pair of steals. He was 4-of-8 from 3-point range for the game
The Racers' first road contest of the season is Tuesday when they travel to Middle Tennessee for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
