The Murray State Racers hit the road for a Saturday game at the Ford Center when they take on the Evansville Purple Aces for the 37th time at 3 p.m. in Evansville, Indiana.

The Saturday game begins an important segment of the season for the Racers as they play three games next week including a tough road trip to Ole Miss and South Dakota State. MSU also faces Wright State on their final game before Christmas at home on Dec. 22. A hot streak now would propell MSU into the Dec. 31 OVC opener on Dec. 31.
The Racers lead the all-time series 25-11 and are 11-7 in Evansville. The last time the Racers played there, Jonathan Fairell hit a shot in the lane with only tenths of a second remaining for a Racer win. Last season, the Aces won in overtime and snapped a six-game losing skid against MSU with their first win in Murray since 2002.
The Racers are coming off an 86-76 home win over Detroit Mercy on Saturday where they evened their mark this season at 4-4. Jonathan Stark continued his amazing start to the season with 27 points, which marked his fifth game in the first eight of scoring 20 or more points. The junior was named the OVC Newcomer of the Week for a fourth-straight week. Stark,is among eight in the history of the league to win one of the weekly awards four-straight week. He's 16th in the nation with a scoring average of 22.6 points per game.
In the meantime, the Racers are hitting 3-pointers at a high clip. In the first eight games, they rank 13th in the nation with 10.5 per game. The Racers showed another dimension in the UDM game by taking the ball into the post where they scored 34 points led by 19 from Terrell Miller and 11 from Damarcus Croaker who also had a double-double with 11 rebounds.
Evansville scored a 69-66 victory over Bowling Green on Thursday at the Ford Center. The Aces are 5-4 after getting a career-high 29 points from guard Jaylon Brown, who was 14-of-15 from the free throw line.
The Ohio Valley Conference and Missouri Valley Conference have 13 head-to-head games this season. Outside MSU's win over Illinois State, the MVC has won 6-of-7 so far. UE is the third MVC opponent the Racers have faced this season and they're 1-1 after a loss at SIU. Since 2011, MSU is 10-5 against MVC teams.
