Racers Compete at the Music City Challenge

The Murray State track and field team competed in the first day of the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday.
Freshman Jabreuna Brimlett set a personal record in the triple jump. Brimlett jumped 11.94m (39' 2.25") in the event. The personal record ranks fourth in the all-time rankings at Murray State
Leah Krause set a new personal record in the 5000 meters. Krause finished tenth as she ran 17:57. The time ranks seventh all time at MSU. Rebekah Priddy also set a personal record as she followed closely behind Krause. She finished with a time of 18:08.
Tamdra Lawrence put up another solid performance. Lawrence finished ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.69. Deja Rodgers also competed in the event finishing with a time of 25.56. Jocelyn Payne set a new personal record in the event with a time of 25.83.
Brianna McCarthy and Christina Meinhardt competed in the weight throw. McCarthy threw 14.07m (46'2") and Meinhardt threw a 13.18m (43'3").
The Racers continue with the Music City Challenge on Saturday. Events are set to begin at 10 a.m.
