Moss Named Mid-Major Madness Player Of Week

CollegeSportsMadness.com named Racer men's basketball senior Jeffery Moss its Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.
From Madison, Alabama, Moss closed out his career at the CFSB Center Saturday when he scored a career-high 33 points in Murray State's 79-55 win over UT Martin.
Moss was 11-of-16 from the field and 8-of-11 from 3-point range as MSU clinched their 29th straight winning season as they improved to 16-13.
He's one of four Racers to hit eight 3-pointers in a single game since the shot was introduced to the college game in 1986. Moss came within one of Justin Burdine's MSU record of nine threes in 2002 against Eastern Kentucky. James Singleton and Don Mann each hit eight threes. Singleton's game was at home against Eastern Illinois in 2003 and Mann's was against Tennessee State in Nashville in 1989. The NCAA started the 3-point shot in 1986.
Moss' 3-point average is second in OVC games at .495 and his 53 made 3-point shots is tops in the OVC. In the last eight games, Moss is scoring 21.3 ppg.
He is one of 22 MSU players that have reached 1,300 career points (He has 1,380).
