Racers Fall to Wright State

The Murray State women's tennis team was defeated by Wright State on Saturday as the Racers were swept 7-0.Â
The Racers found themselves down early as they lost the doubles point. Partners Megan Blue and Amina Hadzic kept it close in their match. The pair was tied 6-6 with their opponents but was unable to finish the match due to Wright State clinching the doubles point at the No. 1 and 3 doubles courts.
In the singles matches, Blue kept it close with her opponent in the first set at the No. 1 singles. She was ultimately defeated 7-6, 6-4. Hadzic also kept in close in the No. 2 singles match. The freshman took an early 6-2 lead to win the first set but was unable to hold on as she lost the second and third sets 6-3, 6-3. Haily Morgan also took her opponent to three sets. Playing at the No. 3 singles, Morgan rallied after losing her first set 6-2 and won her second set 6-4. However, she lost the third set 6-2.
Murray State (5-4) opens Ohio Valley Conference play as they travel to take on Morehead State on Friday and Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Saturday's match time is set for 10:30 a.m.
