Wednesday's Game
The Racers will face Southern Illinois for the second time in seven days Wednesday at Charlotte West Stadium in Carbondale. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Previously On Racer Softball
The Racers went 3-1 last weekend, splitting a doubleheader at Tennessee State and sweeping Belmont at home. Maggie Glass went 3-for-3 in the win over TSU, while Jocelynn Rodgers and Cayla Levins drove in six of the eight runs in the win over Belmont. The duo drove in one each in the first game against the Bruins, before scoring two each in the finale. Mason Robinson allowed just one earned one over two complete game wins on the weekend, while Haven Campbell notched her second solo shutout of the season against Belmont.
All-Time vs. Southern Illinois
The Salukis recorded their third win of the series last Thursday in Murray by taking down the Racers, 10-5. SIU had a big inning in the contest which featured six unearned runs that propelled them to the win. Hanna Porter was 1-for-3 in the game, while Jessica Heese scored a game-high three runs. The MSU loss evens the series to one game piece in Murray, but the series now shifts to Carbondale where the Racers have never won and are 0-2.
Scouting The Salukis
The Salukis will enter Wednesday at 23-12 overall after taking two of three games against Missouri State last weekend to move to 7-4 in the MVC. One of the key components of SIU's success thus far has been its pitching. Southern Illinois is currently allowing 2.81 earned runs per game, are limiting opponents to a .250 batting average and are striking out more batters than they are walking at almost a 2-to-1 clip. Brianna Jones has won 17 of the 23 games in the circle for the Salukis this season and has a 2.07 ERA, has struck out 109 batters with just 22 walks and is third in the nation in shutouts with eight. Offensively, SIU hits .275 as a team and is led by Shaye Harre's team-high .365 average. Harre also leads the team in hits with 35, runs with 28, home runs with nine, walks with 23 and RBIs with 30, in addition to nine doubles.

Weather Wednesday in Carbondale will be partly sunny with temps in the mid-60's. Chances of precipitation will be low at just two percent, with low-to-moderate winds coming out of the east at around seven mph.
Shutout City
Haven Campbell posted her second solo shutout of the season on Sunday by blanking Belmont. She allowed just five hits and two walks in the game.

After tallying double-digit hits in just five of their first 30 games, the Racers have now has 10+hits in five of their last seven contests. Murray State is currently 6-4 in games in which they record 10 or more hits.
