The Murray State women's tennis team earned a victory on Senior Day as they defeated Tennessee State 7-0 on Tuesday
The Racers started out hot in the doubles matches. Partners Erin Patton and Haily Morgan won at the No. 1 doubles 6-0. Alina Schibol and Jeanne Masson played their second straight match at the No. 2 doubles. They won their match 6-0 to capture the doubles point for MSU.
MSU didn't let up when it came to singles play. Seniors Megan Blue and Patton earned victories in their last home matches of their Racer careers. Blue won at the No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2. Patton jumped out to an early lead as she won her first set 6-2. She lost her second set 6-3 but came back to win the third set 7-6. Morgan won at the No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-0. The win was her fifth straight singles victory. Amina Hadzic won her hard fought battle at the No. 2 court as she won 7-6, 7-6. Schibol and Masson rounded out MSU in the singles matches. Schibol won at the No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Masson won 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 6 singles.
The Racers travel for their last match of the regular season. Murray State (10-9, 5-4) plays Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Alabama on Friday. Match time has yet to be determined.
