Racers Honor Seniors During Final Home Matches

The Murray State women's tennis team prepares for their final home matches of the season as they take on Belmont and Tennessee State on Friday and Saturday at Bennie Purcell Courts.
The Racers come into the match after losing a tough fought battle to Austin Peay in a midweek matchup. The Governors winning the doubles point proved to be crucial as they defeated MSU 4-3. Haily Morgan comes into the match on a three match winning streak. At the No. 3 singles, Morgan has won her last three matches against UT Martin (0-6, 6-3, 10-8), Southeast Missouri (6-0, 6-2) and APSU (6-0, 6-1).
Murray State (7-8, 3-4) is currently sixth in the OVC, ahead of Belmont, who is eleventh, and Tennessee State, who is tenth. Belmont is searching for their first conference win. Their last conference win was in February when the Bruins defeated Cumberland 7-0 in Nashville. Tennessee State's lone conference victory came against Belmont where the Tigers won 5-1.
The match Friday against Belmont is set to begin at noon at Bennie Purcell Courts. Saturdays match is set to begin at 11 a.m. Prior to Saturday's match against TSU, seniors Megan Blue, Erin Patton, and Suzann Stoltz will be honored in a special Senior Day Ceremony.Â
