Racers Defeat Bruins at Home

The women's tennis team came from behind to defeat Belmont on Friday as they defeated the Bruins 4-3 at Bennie Purcell Courts.
The Racers found themselves down early as they lost the doubles point. Head coach Jorge Caetano made changes in the doubles lineup. Caetano moved Jeanne Masson and Alina Schibol to the No. 2 doubles. This moved Megan Blue and Amina Hadzic to the No. 3 doubles court. Haily Morgan and Erin Patton won their match at the No. 1 doubles 6-4. Despite the change, MSU lost both matches at the No. 2 and 3 doubles. Masson and Schibol lost their match 6-3 and Blue and Hadzic lost their match 7-5.
In the singles matches, Patton won in convincing fashion at the No. 4 singles.Blue was able to bounce back from the doubles to win her match at the No. 1 singles court. She won her match 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Morgan won her fourth straight match at the No. 3 singles court. She fell in a close first set 6-7 but came back to dominate her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in the next sets.  She won her match 6-3, 6-1 to be the first to finish her singles matches. Masson clinched the victory for the Racers. After winning her first match 6-3, she fell in her second match 6-1. Masson routed her opponent in the third set as she won 6-0 to give MSU the victory.
Murray State (9-9, 4-4) looks to stay hot as they take on Tennessee State in the last home match of the season. Match time is set for 11 a.m. There will be a special Senior Day ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m. Megan Blue, Erin Patton, and Suzaan Stoltz will be honored from the women's tennis team at the ceremony.
