Yockey, Priddy Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Men's cross country runner Neil Yockey and women's cross country and track and field athlete Rebekah Priddy were both named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District teams as announced by the league on Thursday.
Yockey, the junior from Shelbyville, Illinois, boasts a 3.93 GPA as a Biology/Pre-Dental major. In 2015, he helped the men's cross country team to a sixth place finish at the conference championship, the teams best finish at the OVC Cross Country Championship since 2002. He posted personal bests in three different events over the course of the season. His bests include 27:37 in the five mile, 22:48 in 4K and 34:16 in the 10K.
Priddy, a sophomore fom Austin, Texas, had a stellar performance in the classroom and on the track this past year. As an engineering major with a minor in Spanish, Priddy has earned a cumulative 4.00 GPA. She was also impressive on the field as she set the new school record in the 2,000 meter steeplechase (7:06) in her first attempt this season. She set a new personal record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:02) which ranks third at MSU and a PR in the 5,000 meters (17:53) which ranks ninth in program history. She also had an remarkable performance at the OVC Cross Country Championship as she placed 22nd at the event.
After being named to the All-District teams, Yockey and Priddy are eligible to be named to one of three CoSIDA Academic All-American teams, All-American teams will be announced June 24.
