The Murray State track & field and cross country head coach Jenny Swieton announced plans for the third annual Racer 5K Run to be held on Sept. 24.
The start of the race will begin at 8 a.m. at the Susan E. Bauernfeind Recreation & Wellness Center and finish inside Roy Stewart Stadium. Registration is from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the start line.
"We are excited to continue to grow the Racer 5k on Murray State Family Weekend," said MSU head coach Jenny Swieton. "This is a great opportunity for families to be fit together. The course is flat and fast and the finish on the track inside Stewart Stadium makes it fun. We encourage runners and walkers of all abilities to participate. The event is a fundraiser for the MSU track & field/cross country program and we appreciate all who chose to participate in the event."
Runners of all ages are invited. Entry into the race is $20 for MSU students and $25 for all other runners. A family discount includes $25 for the first two runners and $15 for each additional participant. Runners that bring a canned good item will receive a $5 discount for entry. All canned goods will be given to Murray-Calloway County Need Line.
A participant t-shirt will be given to each online sign-up on GoRacers.com.
