The Murray State volleyball team lost in straight sets at Southern Illinois Tuesday night at Davies Gym in Carbondale, Ill. The Salukis proved to have a bit more fire power offensively than the Racers as SIU hit .314 and MSU hit .142 in the match. Set scores went 22-25, 20-25 and 18-25.

Scottie Ingram led the way for the Racers (3-4) with 11 kills in the loss while also adding nine digs. Rachel Giustion added 10 kills and nine digs of her own while Dacia Brown and Olivia Chatman had four kills each on the night. Brown also led the way at the net defensively with two solo blocks.

Setter Courtney Radle led the way with 24 assists against the Salukis, while in the back row Ellie Lorenz had nine digs and Alex Kaufmann added five.

Both teams had four service aces in the match while the Racers had six service errors to the Salukis' (6-1) five. SIU also had an 11-3 edge in total blocks.

Next up, MSU has a pair of matches Friday as the Racers travel to Indianapolis for the Butler Classic. The Racers will face Wright State at 1 p.m. and Butler at 5 p.m.
