This Weekend
The Racers look to snap their current four-match skid as they travel to Indianapolis for two matches at the Butler Classic to face Wright State and Butler. MSU has won its last two matches against the Raiders (2013 and 2014) and is facing Butler for the first time since 1993.
Last Time Out
MSU lost in three sets Tuesday at Southern Illinois. The Salukis hit .314 in the match while holding the Racers to a .142 attack percentage. Scottie Ingram and Rachel Giustino led the Racers with 11 and 10 kills, respectively in the loss and each had a team-high nine digs on the night. Ingram is just three kills shy of passing Lea Ann Allen for fourth-place on the all-time career kills list in program history.
Scouting Wright State
The Raiders have won their last two matches after starting off the season 0-5. WSU swept Eastern Michigan and defeated OVC opponent Morehead State in four. Katie Klusman leads the team with 80 kills on the season while Megan Hopkins is second with 58 and Alannah Lemming is third with 46 and leads the Radiers with a .233 attack percentage and one block per set. Maddie Lohmeier is averaging 9.67 assists per set to lead the team and Wright State is hitting .150 as a team.
Scouting Butler
The Bulldogs have won three straight matches entering the weekend after starting the season 2-4. Butler is led by Anna Logan, who is the only Bulldog with more than 100 kills on the season, with 175 (4.73 per set). Whitney Beck is second on the squad with 98 kills so far this year. At setter, Makayla Ferguson leads the way averaging 9.58 assists per set and in the back row defensively, Taylor Takeda leads Butler with 131 digs. As a team, the Bulldogs are hitting .228 and have recorded 81.5 total blocks and 49 service aces.
