1/16/2017 9:15:00 AM | Women's Track and Field
The Murray State Racers competed for the first time in 2017 over the week at the Commodore Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
Â
The Racers stepped in against one of the best fields they will face this indoor season as they competed with the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vandy. The Racers appeared at Vandy along with fellow Ohio Valley Conference members Austin Peay, Belmont and UT Martin.
"I am happy with the start to the season, it was great to see such high level competition so early," MSU Coach Jenny Swieton said. "It really shows everyone what it takes to be at the highest level. Now we can get back to work and make the necessary improvements to be where we want to at OVC. I was happy with how most of the girls competed given the level of competition. Our freshmen really showed they will make an immediate impact on the program as well."
