The Murray State Racers and Austin Peay Governors renew one of the top rivalries in all of college basketball Saturday when they meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
The Racers are coming off an 86-79 win over Eastern Kentucky at home Thursday as they improved to 11-9 overall with their third-straight win. MSU also kept a two-game lead in the Ohio Valley Conference West Division at 5-1.
The Govs dropped an 89-82 loss at home to Morehead State and are  6-14 and 2-4 in the OVC.
The 122nd meeting between the two comes after ESPN named the series one of the top rivalries in the game in 2009.
Murray State against Austin Peay also means another chapter in the  Heritage Bank Battle of the Border.  Starting last fall, points are awarded for each win in head to head regular season match ups. There is also a donor and community service component as well.  The 67 points of the annual competition represent the 67 miles separating the two institutions. Coming into Saturday's game, the Racers lead the competition 16.5 points to 1.5 points. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the winning institution each year.Â
Froggy 103 (WFGS 103.7 FM) airs every MSU game with "Voice of the Racers" Neal Bradley, in his 26th season calling the action. Former MSU assistant coach Kenny Roth provides commentary.
