Murray State basketball fans had a great time Thursday at Racer Mania inside the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The annual event has become a fan favorite as the first chance for the fans to interact with the Murray State men's and women's basketball teams.
The Murray Bank was the presenter of the event and it was full of energy and optimism as new Racer women's coach Rechelle Turner and men's coach Matt McMahon put their teams through a fun program. The Racers treated the fans to introductions of the players, a combined dance number, scrimmage from both squads, and the ever-popular dunk contest. Flames shooting from the backboards above the court added an extra pop at the Racers' home court. The MSU Racer Girls and Racerettes also performed. MSU Cheer also performed an electric segment.
At the end of the night's festivities, fans got their hands on the new schedule posters and a chance to meet the players get signatures from both teams.
The 2017-18 season is the 93rd in Murray State men's history and the 70th in the OVC. While the Racer women's program will be competing in its 51st season and 39th season in the OVC.
Both Racer teams are looking forward to their exhibition games at the CFSB Center (Nov. 2) against McKendree at 7 p.m. The day is a doubleheader after the MSU women's team takes on Georgetown (KY) at 5 p.m.
Both games can be seen in free online streaming video at OVCDigitalNetwork.com. Both games will be carried with online radio at GoRacers.com and Froggy103.com. Froggy's over the air signal is at 103.7 FM.
Fans can inquire about tickets through the CFSB Center by calling 270-809-3000 or my visiting online at TicketMaster.com.
