Racers Edge Out Florida Southern

The Murray State Racers traveled to Lakeland, Florida Monday (March 20) where they defeated the Mocs of Florida Southern 5-4 at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.Â
The match was scored as a division two match as each doubles match was counted as a point and not by a single point awarded to the team who won the best two-out-of-three.Â
MSU won only one doubles match on the day. The duo of Anja Loncarevic and Amina Hadzic continue pull in wins for the Racers after they defeat Linnea Skymberg and Natalya Popovic 8-4.Â
The Racers kept the match close as they picked up four points in singles matches. Alina Schibol started the singles rally as she defeated Lola Asis 6-1, 6-4. Sara Bjork took down Florida Southern's Avery Hunter  6-4, 7-5. Amina Hazdic fought back from a dropped first set to win her match against Selin Devrimci 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.Â
Claire Chang clinched the Racer victory after she defeated Lorena Rionda 7-6 (6), 6-4.Â
Murray State improves to 4-7 on the season.
The Racers continue their road trip as they take on the Tars of Rollins on Wednesday (March 22) in Winter Park, Florida.Â
