Racers Take Four Matches To Third Set At EIU

The Murray State women's tennis squad fell 7-0 on the road in Charleston to the Eastern Illinois Panthers.

The Racers fell to 2-5 in OVC action as they play Saturday at SIUE.

With a match that was closer than the 7-0 final indicates, the Racers took four matches to the third set, but couldn't the key points to win.

No. 1 player Anja Loncarevic won the second set to force a third, but ran out of gas against EIU's Kelly Iden and lost the third set 6-1. No. 3 Amina Hadzic won a 9-7 tiebreaker to keep her match going with EIU's Grace Summers, but fell 6-1 in the third set. No. 4 Alina Schibol had the same tiebreaker win in the second set against Stella Cliffe, but fell 6-4 in the third set and Sara Bjork lost her third set in a 7-5 tiebreaker to Emily Pugachevsky.
