Lawrence Comes Up Short At NCAA 100 Meters

Murray State women's track & field student-athletes Jabreuna Brimlett and Tamdra Lawrence are competing this week at the NCAA D-I Outdoor East Regional at the University of Kentucky Track & Field Complex in Lexington, Ky.
Lawrence ran in the 100 meters Thursday and was not among the top-24 in the 100 meter dash to advance to the finals. She posted a time of 11.78 and placed 34th among the field of 46 runners. She was just off the 11.51 she ran this month at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.

Jabreuna Brimlett and Lawrence will be looking to place among the top-12 so they can advance to the NCAA Championships held June 7-10 in Eugene, Oregon.
Brimlett gets her shot at the opening of the 100 meter hurdles on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET. Â Lawrence comes back at 7:30 p.m. ET in the first round of the 200 meter dash.
Brimlett enters the regional with the 12th fastest time this spring in the field of 48 runners.

There have been nine NCAA qualifiers from the Murray State program in the Coach Swieton era including Brimlett and Lawrence this spring.
