Racer 5K Set For September 23

The Murray State track & field and cross country teams announced plans for the fourth annual Racer 5K Run to be held Sept. 23.

The start of the race is at 8 a.m. at the Susan E. Bauernfeind Recreation & Wellness Center and it will finish on Marshall Gage Track inside Roy Stewart Stadium. Registration is from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the start line.

A racer t-shirt will go to those who sign up online. Race day registration is permitted at the start line.

The race cost is $25 and the Murray State student price is $20. Families can race too. The cost is $25 per the first two runners and $15 for any additional runners. If participants bring five or more canned food items, they'll get $5 off their entry fee. All canned goods will be given to Murray-Calloway County Need Line.

The winner of each age group of each gender will receive a prize. The age groups are: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+.
