Racers Travel To Take On UT Martin Friday

The Murray State soccer team prepares to hit the road for an Ohio Valley Conference match against Tennessee Martin at Skyhawk Field in Martin, Tennessee, Friday at 7 p.m.

The Racers head into this week following a pair of shutout victories over OVC opponents Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech at Cutchin Field. With the wins, Murray State remains perfect in defending home turf and improve their home record to 6-0 on the year.Â

Alex Steigerwald and Karsyn Hasch earned OVC Player of the Week honors this week following two solid defensive performances this weekend. The duo helped limit the Gamecocks and the Golden Eagles to a combined nine shots on goal while preventing a score from either squad.

Murray State looks forward to facing a UT Martin squad that has yet tasted defeat in OVC play this season. The Racers boast an 8-2-1 record on the season and are 4-1 in OVC action, while the Skyhawks are 8-2-1 and 3-0-1 in OVC play.Â

The Racers will wrap up their regular-season in Murray, as they take on Morehead State (Oct. 19) and Eastern Kentucky (Oct. 21) ahead of the OVC Tournament.Â
