11/1/2018 9:26:00 PM | Women's Basketball
The Murray State women's basketball team looked solid in their lone exhibition, as they had little trouble with NAIA Lindsey Wilson, defeating the Blue Raiders, 72-51, Thursday night at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
Lindsey Wilson was very game from the get go, leaving the two teams tied at 14 after one quarter of play. However, the Racers went on a 14-2 run in the middle of the second quarter and never looked back. Murray State out shot the Blue Raiders 45.6 to 33.3 in the game and outrebounded them by 10, 42-32.
Evelyn Adebayo led Murray State in her Racer debut with 21 points, going 7-for-10 from both the floor and the free throw line. Janika Griffith-Wallace posted a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while DeAsia Outlaw also added 13 points to the cause. Tyrah Engleman led Lindsey Wilson in the game with 11 points, while reigning Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year Gerda Paulauskaite had a team-high seven boards and two points.
The Racers will officially open their 2018-19 season Wednesday when they host Evansville at 6 p.m. at the CFSB Center.
