The Murray State women's basketball team scored the fourth most points in program history Saturday night at CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky with a 113-55 win over Oakland City. The Racers are now 2-0 on the season for just the third time since the 2010-2011 season.
After ending the first quarter, up just 18-6, the Racers kicked it into high gear and closed out the game by scoring at least 30 points in each quarter. Evelyn Adebayo notched her second double-double in as many games with game-highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Adebayo was one of seven Racers who reached double-digit points in the contest. Alexis Burpo was next in line with 14, while Cekeya Mack had 13 and Janika Griffith-Wallace, Lex Mayes, Paige Barrett and Macey Turley each had 10. Turley also added a game-high seven assists and is now averaging 8.0 assists per game through the first two of the season.
Murray State returns to action Tuesday when they travel to one of America's great basketball cathedrals, Hinkle Fieldhouse, to take on Butler. Tip-off from Indianapolis is scheduled for 6 p.m.
