Lawrence Named OVC Co-Track Athlete Of The Week

Tamdra Lawrence has been named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-indoor track athlete of the week, the league office announced Wednesday. D'Airrien Jackson of Tennessee Tech was also named track athlete of the week along with Lawrence.
Lawrence earned a first and second-place finish at the Pitt State Gorilla Classic at Pittsburg State. In the 60-meter dash, she tied the school record of 7.42 set by Alexis Love in 2012 and is now first in the OVC in that event. She also took part in the 200-meter race, where she finished with a time of 24.20, which is the second-fastest time in the OVC.
"Tamdra had a great meet this past weekend, tying a school record, and she's been making strides in practice. We talked about making a few adjustments, and she executed when it mattered," said head coach Adam Kiesler.
Murray State prepares for the OVC indoor championship held at Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill., from Friday, February 23 to Saturday, February 24.
