Saturday is Senior Day 2018 for the Murray State women as the Racers close out their home schedule with a 5 p.m., contest against Tennessee Tech. Four seniors, Jasmine Borders, Bria Bethea, Ke'Shunan James and Mary Jones will all be honored prior to the game.
The Racers are coming off a tough 59-55 loss Thursday night to Jacksonville State. MSU led for much of the evening Thursday before falling away late to the Gamecocks. James led the Racers in the loss with a game-high 24 points.
MSU's win at TTU earlier this season was just the fifth victory all time for the Racers in Cookeville. Bethea had a stellar game in the first meeting between the two schools as she was just a point from matching her career-high with 27 points in the win. Bethea also added a game-high 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the year.
Bethea and James continue to be the top school scoring duo in the OVC this season as James is second in scoring during league play at 22 points per game while Bethea's 15.9 per rank sixth in the conference. Belmont has the next closest duo with the fourth and 10th-leading scorers in the OVC.
Yaktavia Hickson leads four Golden Eagles averaging in double figures in scoring this season at 11.4 points per game while Jordan Brock is second at 11 per. Mackenzie Coleman and Kesha Brady are averaging 10.6 and 10.5, respectively, Brady hasn't played since the beginning of the conference schedule however. As a team, Tennessee Tech is averaging 59.5 points per game while allowing 64.7 per. TTU is 2-11 this season on the road and has dropped its last two contests following back-to-back victories earlier this month.
