Just The Facts
The Murray State softball team picked up a big 4-1 win over perennial power South Alabama Saturday as part of Mississippi State's February Freezer at Nusz Park in Starkville. The Racers were scheduled to take on Drake later in the day, however that game was canceled due to rain and will not be made up.

How It Happened
South Alabama took an early 1-0 lead in the contest thanks to a RBI double from Kristian Foster in the first inning. The game would remain at 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth when MSU scored all four of its runs and tallied five of its six hits. Lexi Jones got things started for the Racers with a solo home run to lead off the inning, while Sierra Gilmore plated two with a double and Madison Culver drove in one on a single. The lead went on to hold for the final two innings to give the Racers the 4-1 win.

In The Circle
Haven Campbell picked up her third win of the year in the game by allowing no earned runs on seven hits with a strikeout and a walk in a complete game effort.

A Program First
The Racers picked up their first ever win over South Alabama Saturday, moving to 1-3 in the all-time series. The loss for the Jaguars was only the second of the season with their only other loss coming to then 11^th-ranked Alabama.

A Driving Force
Lexi Jones belted her third home run of the year in the game and has now driven in a team-high 10 runs this season.

Double Up
Brenna Finck went 2-for-3 against the Jaguars Saturday, picking up her second multi-hit game of the season and the 28^th of her career.

The Racers will wrap-up play in the February Freezer Sunday when they take on South Alabama at 1 p.m.
