Racers Unable To Keep Pace With Wright State

Murray State began the first of two games in the state of Ohio with a loss, as they were defeated by Wright State 5-2 at the South Regency Tennis Center in Dayton, Ohio.
The Racers drop to 1-2 overall while Wright State moves to 4-6.
"It was a tough match for us today, and unfortunately we weren't able to raise our game when we needed to. Wright State is a very well coached team, and they deserved to get the win in the end," said head coach Jorge Caetano after the loss.Â
The Racers were swept in doubles play, with Wright State winning 6-3, 6-2 and 6-3.
"After losing the doubles point, the girls did a great job starting the singles matches, winning four first sets. We weren't able to carry the momentum in two of those matches and ended up losing them in the third set."
Claire Chang and Anja Loncarevic were the only Racers to record wins, with both winning in two sets. Chang came away winning 7-5 and 6-1 and Loncarevic won 6-3 in both sets.
"I'm very happy for Anja to get another good win today. She did a great job staying focused on every point of her match and I am extremely happy to see her back in our lineup. Claire also played another solid match, and I am very pleased with the way she's leading the team by playing in the number one position. I am very confident she can compete and beat anyone in the nation, so it is great to see her getting these wins early in the season."
The Miami Redhawks are next on the docket, with a 9 am start time in Hamilton, Ohio tomorrow.
