For the sixth time in 12 weeks this season, senior Rachel Giustino has claimed OVC Offensive Player of Week.
Giustino had a phenomenal final two games of her career at Racer Arena as she averaged six kills per set in two wins over Austin Peay and Morehead State. She began the week with a career-high 33 kills while hitting .371 against the Governors while also notching a season-high five blocks. Against the Eagles, she had 15 kills in a sweep while adding four more blocks, including three solo.
In addition to the six times this season, it is the ninth time in her career she has taken home Offensive Player of the Week honors, with two coming in 2018 and one as a sophomore in 2017. It is also the 11th time a Racer has been honored by the OVC this season as Becca Fernandez has been named Defensive Player of the Week three times and Ashley McBee being named Setter of the Week twice.
Giustino and the rest of the Murray State volleyball team will be back in action this Thursday as they begin their quest to defend their OVC Tournament crown. First serve from Jacksonville, Alabama against UT Martin is set for 10 a.m.
