Racer Golf Takes Citrus Challenge Title - Moore Wins Medalist Title

The Murray State women's golf team claimed the team championship and Anna Moore the medalist title of the Citrus Challenge at Red Tail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.
Not only did the Racers claim their third title in the 2018-19 season, they did it by a whopping 21 shots as the Racers carded team scores of 287-294-292=873 to easily outdistance Keiser who had scores of 302-295-297=894. Georgia State (912), Austin Peay (914) Dartmouth (922) made up the rest of the top-5.
Murray State seniors Anna Moore and Linette Holmslykke finished one-two in the medalist chase. Moore had scores of 70-70-72 for a 4-under-par 212 total, while Holmslykke 218 total on scores of 71-76-71. MSU's Jane Watts gave the Racers three players in the top-7 with a spot in fourth place on rounds of 73-73-75=221. Raeshya Surendran placed ninth on rounds of 73-75-78=226. Sarah McDowell moved up 11 spots in the final found and ended up in 16th place on scores of 78-78-74=230. Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria played the event as an individual and finished 42nd after scores of 82-84-76=242.
The rest of the field of nine teams included Cleveland State (927), Lipscomb (935), Siena (944) and host Morehead State (952).
The Red Tail course played to a par-72 and a length of 5,929 yards.
Next up for the Racers is the John Kirk – Panther Intercollegiate (March 31-April 2) at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia.
